Scripture
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
– Matthew 10:40
Reflection
Jesus, sending His disciples into the world, reveals a deep spiritual truth: to receive a follower of Christ is to receive Christ Himself – and, by extension, the Father who sent Him. Every act of hospitality, kindness, and acceptance shown to God’s people. Our homes and hearts become places where the Lord Himself is welcomed.
This truth transforms how we view each other in the family of God, each member of the body of Christ. Families are called to open their lives to one another, recognizing Christ in every guest, friend, or fellow believer. When we show love, care, and respect to one another – especially in our homes – we honor Jesus and the Father.
Imagine the impact if every family, church, and Christian community took these words to heart: receiving one another as we would receive the Lord Himself. Our homes would overflow with grace, peace, and the tangible presence of God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Jesus and for the privilege of receiving Him and those whom He sends. Help us to open our hearts and homes to others, serving and loving them as unto Christ. May our family reflect Your hospitality, kindness, and grace. Teach us to see You in every person we welcome, and let our lives bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
