Reflection
Matthew 7 concludes Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount with a call to authentic faith -a life marked by humility, discernment, prayer, and obedience. He teaches us to avoid hypocrisy, to seek God earnestly, and to treat others as we wish to be treated (“the Golden Rule”). Jesus warns against false prophets and urges us to build our lives on the solid foundation of His Word.
True wisdom is found not only in hearing Christ’s teaching but in living it out daily. God is glorified when we humbly examine our own hearts, persistently seek Him in prayer, and put His Word into practice. Like the wise man building on the rock, our faith stands firm in every storm when it’s rooted in Christ alone.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You are holy and true, and Your Word is our sure foundation. Help us to live with humility and mercy, seeking Your wisdom in all things. Teach us to pray with faith and to love others as You have loved us. May our lives glorify You as we build on the Rock—Jesus Christ. Strengthen us to obey Your Word, so that we stand firm and shine Your light in this world.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
